World Cup Tickets Goes on Sale

The 2010 Soccer World Cup is on its way. World Cup 2010 is going to be hosted by South Africa who is privileged to organize the great ceremony for the first time. World Cup football is scheduled from 11 June 2010 to 11 July 2010. As the event is announced the first thing came in minds of football crazy fans is that will I be the part of crowd? Will I be able to get the tickets?

World Cup Tickets :
For all the soccer fans good news is that around 3million tickets are available for the 64 matches, which start in June 2010. Tickets are always issue of concern for crazy fans and followers of football so this year in order to shun any shortage of tickets International Federation of Association Football has introduced a new and improved system for selling the 2010 World Cup tickets. It is said by the organizers of world cup that it would wholly boost the number of tickets accessible for legitimate football cohorts. David Will, the ticketing sub-committee chairman said that 50% of tickets fans would increase from countries qualifying for finals. And thus it is planned that 12% of the total stadium capacity would be reserved for fans of teams concerned in World Cup which was up to 8% less last time. This would be applied for first round only. In knockout phase percentage would be about 8 for these matches.

Tickets will be sold in different phases, first phase of World Cup tickets selling is already over. It ended in midnight on March 31 and was stared on 20 February 2009. The recorded applications in first phase were total 1,635,136. Roughly 30% of the applications came from the residents of South Africa and 70% came from the rest of the world.

Final match in Soccer City Stadium was most in demand for tickets along with the opening match. More than 50% applications were found to be team specific series. The whole phase completed evenly and there was no problem faced during the procedure. First selling phase was a success.

Ticket Selling Phases :
Tickets will be sold in phases. As first phase is already completed but some tickets will be available when qualifications matches of 32 teams will be finished in late 2009. The first batch of tickets was planned to be sold in host city. Venue chosen for this was at airport terminals and most of them were made available online. Application forms were made available online on official website along with the local branches of the First National Bank in South Africa. FNB is official event sponsors. Tickets will be available in three types of sales phases.

  • First Sales Phase: The random selection draw

    • 20 February 2009 to 31 March 2009

  • Second Sales Phase: The first come first served

    • May 2009 to 16 November 2009

  • Third sales phase:

  • Fourth sales phase:

    • 9 February 2010 to 7 April 2010

This phase was not restricted to first come fist serve basis instead each and every correctly filled application as considered for equal opportunity of being draw. It was estimated before five days of first phase ended that applications were one million in numbers. South Africa residents were excluded in this figure. Applications were received from more than 160 countries. United States, Britain showed their great interest.

Second sales phase : The first come first served
Availability of tickets would be of great concern during this phase so it would be make sure that tickets are given on first come first serve basis.

Third sales phase :
Second phase would take place on 1 February 2010. It would be going to have hybrid nature. All correctly filled applications would deserve for receiving tickets but if demand exceeds than availability of tickets then "first come first serve basis" formula will execute. 0. Please note: it makes no difference whether you apply early, on 5 December 2009, or late, on 22 January 2010. Each correctly submitted application will have the same opportunity of being successful in the draw.

Fourth Sales Phase :
Fourth phase again depends on the subject to availability so tickets would be sold on first come first serve basis in the order of application received.

Ticket Selling Rules :
Some rules for selling World Cup 2010 tickets are also specified.

1. One person can only apply for four tickets per match. That person is allowed to apply for seven matches maximum.

2. A person can not apply for two matching scheduled on the same day.

3. Those who are not residents of South Africa can apply through online at official website. Ticket application would be available download able version.

They are almost of prices range from $20 (£14) to $900 (£639), a drastic increase in the standard $1.50 (£1.05) to $2.50 (£1.75) supporters pay for entry to South African premier league matches.

It's happening first time in the history that 120,000 discount tickets are announced for the residents of South Africa. Being the host country South Africa is blessed much in case of tickets. Also there is a good news for stadium construction workers because they the figure above include 40,000 free tickets for them. It is also declared by the governing body of FIFA that South African residents would be given tickets at cheapest price.

However South African residents obviously would love to watch matches on their television screens as they are privileged to host the event for the very first time.

Statistics : 2010 WORLD CUP IN NUMBERS

  • 3m tickets on sale - 450,000 for South African residents

  • Tickets range from $20 to $900

  • 64 matches

  • 32 teams

  • 10 stadiums in nine cities

  • 400,000 visitors expected

  • At least 400,000 visitors are expected in South Africa next year

Ticket Brokers :
A ticket broker is one who is making money on the basis of supply and demand. They artificially make small supply of tickets because tournament is always played on so many dates and there are always so many venues and seats accordingly. In this way they are able to grasp significant portion of supply in their own hands and charge almost ten times the original ticket price.

FIFA however are official sellers and does not encourage any ticket brokers, internet accusation or internet ticket agents and had established General Terms and Conditions for any unauthorized intermediate. FIFA has no official share of tickets for such intermediate and violators are subject to cancellation of ticket.

Czech Republic

The Czech Republic short form Czechia, is a landlocked country in Central Europe. The country borders Poland to the northeast, Germany to the west, Austria to the south and Slovakia to the east. The capital and largest city is Prague (Czech: Praha). The country is composed of the historic regions of Bohemia and Moravia, as well as parts of Silesia. The Czech Republic has been a member of NATO since 1999 and of the European Union since 2004. As of 1 January 2009, the Czech Republic holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

czech-republic-flag

Following the Battle of Mohács in 1526, the Czech lands fell under Habsburg rule, later becoming part of the Austrian Empire and Austria–Hungary. The independent Republic of Czechoslovakia was formed in 1918, following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian empire after World War I. After the Munich Agreement, German occupation of Czechoslovakia and the consequent disillusion with the Western response and gratitude for the liberation of the major portion of Czechoslovakia by the Red Army, the Communist party won plurality (38%) in the 1946 elections. In a 1948 coup d'état, Czechoslovakia became a communist-ruled state. In 1968, the increasing dissatisfaction culminated in attempts to reform the communist regime. The events, known as the Prague Spring of 1968, ended with an invasion by the armies of the Warsaw Pact countries (with the exception of Romania); the troops remained in the country until the 1989 Velvet Revolution, when the communist regime collapsed. On January 1, 1993, Czechoslovakia peacefully dissolved into its constituent states, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The Czech Republic is a pluralist multi-party parliamentary representative democracy. President Václav Klaus is the current head of state. The Prime Minister is the head of government (currently Mirek Topolánek). The Parliament has two chambers: the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. It is also a member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Council of Europe and the Visegrád Group.

The Czech Republic made economic reforms such as fast privatizations and flat taxes. Annual gross domestic product growth has recently been around 6%. The country is the first former member of the Comecon to achieve the status of a developed country (2006), according to the World Bank. The Czech Republic also ranks top among the former Comecon countries in the Human Development Index.

Bulgaria

The country of Bulgaria officially the Republic of Bulgaria lies in the Balkans in south-eastern Europe. It borders five other countries: Romania to the north (mostly along the River Danube), Serbia and the Republic of Macedonia to the west, and Greece and Turkey to the south. The Black Sea defines the extent of the country to the east.

bulgariaflag

Bulgaria includes parts of the Roman provinces of Moesia, Thrace and Macedonia. Old European culture within the territory of present-day[update] Bulgaria started to produce golden artifacts by the fifth millennium BC.

The first Bulgarian kingdoms on European soil date back to the early Middle Ages (7th century). All Bulgarian political entities that subsequently emerged preserved the traditions (in ethnic name, language and alphabet) of the First Bulgarian Empire (632/681 – 1018), which at times covered most of the Balkans and spread its alphabet, literature and culture among the Slavic and other peoples of Eastern Europe. Centuries later, with the decline of the Second Bulgarian Empire (1185 – 1396/1422), Bulgarian kingdoms came under Ottoman rule for nearly five centuries. The Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 led to the re-establishment of a Bulgarian state as a constitutional monarchy in 1878, with the Treaty of San Stefano marking the birth of the Third Bulgarian State. In 1908, with social strife brewing at the core of the Ottoman Empire, the Alexander Malinov government and Prince Ferdinand of Bulgaria formally proclaimed the full sovereignty of the Bulgarian state at the ancient capital of Veliko Turnovo. After World War II, in 1945 Bulgaria became a communist state and part of the Eastern Bloc. Todor Zhivkov dominated Bulgaria politically for 33 years (from 1956 to 1989). In 1990, after the Revolutions of 1989, the Communist Party gave up its monopoly on power and Bulgaria transitioned to democracy and free-market capitalism.

Currently[update] Bulgaria functions as a parliamentary democracy under a unitary constitutional republic. A member of the European Union since 2007 and of NATO since 2004, it has a population of approximately 7.6 million. Bulgaria has a high HDI.

Albania

Albania, officially the Republic of Albania is a country in South Eastern Europe. It is bordered by Greece to the south-east, Montenegro to the north, Kosovo[3] to the northeast, and Macedonia to the east. It has a coast on the Adriatic Sea to the west, and on the Ionian Sea to the southwest. It is less than 72 km (45 mi) from Italy, across the Strait of Otranto which links the Adriatic Sea to the Ionian Sea.

albaniaflag

Albania is a member of the United Nations, NATO, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Council of Europe, World Trade Organisation, and one of the founding members of the Union for the Mediterranean. Albania has been a candidate for accession to the European Union since January 2003, and it formally applied for EU membership on 28 April 2009.

Albania is a parliamentary democracy and a transition economy. The Albanian capital, Tirana, is home to approximately 895,000 of the country's 3.6 million people, and it is also the financial capital of the country. Free-market reforms have opened the country to foreign investment, especially in the development of energy and transportation infrastructure.
